On the market for a new phone? Try my unique Cell Phone Chooser Test. Start here with the first question:

:
Pro: It’s elegant, colorful and loads in reasonable time. It’s organized so you can find what you need.
Con: How did the multimedia side of this phone ever pass software testing? While I can respect trying to be as arousing as the iPhone with a partial touch screen, let’s level with each other: It failed.
Though I appreciate the botched attempt at letting me adjust the sensitivity of the all-powerful touch screen, it never reacts the way you want it to and ultimately serves as one of the phone’s nastiest qualities. For some, in fact, this alone could be a deal breaker. These should have simply been buttons.Hardware:
Pro: The battery is a standout winner in this phone’s hardware department. Samsung knew full well energy consumption would be an issue with a device that sucks up so much from audio and video. That said, they’ve pleasantly made the battery issue a moot point. In fact, it actually gets better. A “wallet” (included for free!) serves this two-sided phone with a dual-edged benefit. It’s not only a protective case but it packs a second battery, too! Combined, the Upstage indeed delivers a rated talk time of up to 6.3 hours and listening time up to 16 hours.
Con: It comes with a 64-megabyte memory card. Though standard industry practice, it’s just obnoxiously lame. They’ve again trapped you into needing to buy more to store any decent amount of music.Call Quality:
Call quality often isn’t an easy screw to nail because it’s not always clear if the phone or the carrier is to blame when this department goes awry. With the Upstage, though, suffice it to say it’s not a matter of noticeable alarm.
Multimedia Experience:
Impressive. While I personally don’t want to watch a 30-minute TV program on a 1.73” by 4.05” by 0.3” phone, that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t. Because this phone has access to Sprint’s high-speed data network, though, movie trailers are ideal. Also, the music experience is deliciously akin to an iPod.Simplicity:
On the phone side, yes! The minimalism makes sense there and you can maneuver naturally. It’s the multimedia side that’s unnecessarily convoluted. Try playing Tetris. I dare you. If you can actually complete a game without it erroneously asking you to exit out, I’d want your fingers.Price:
It’s snug squarely in the middle where it should be. You can find simpler, less powerful phones for less and smart phones with operating systems for more. For a feature-rich phone that doesn’t have a word processor, it’s priced just right around $100 to $250 depending on your circumstance. The Bottom Line:
Thank you, Samsung. This is one-stop shopping at an affordable price. You can call, text, watch, photograph, record and listen all on one device – that is, if you’re willing to train yourself to maneuver some near-lethal landmines.Your Two Cents: Have a comment or question related to this cell phone review

music on the go. There’s no full keypad for fast mobile emailing. At a retail price of $69.99, though, the slider phone – which initially hides its basic, 12-button keypad until you slide the phone open – is designed to “slice through the wireless monotony” by featuring:
a decent-quality, VGA cell phone camera
short-range Bluetooth wireless communications (i.e. for Bluetooth headsets)
a bright, full-color screen
access to the mobile Web
a built-in speakerphone
a decent amount of storage (499 contact entries with up to five phone numbers)
a Spanish-language user interface for Spanish-speaking customers
a paid content portal called VirginXL to buy various customizable goodies
text messaging (fast and easy texting called Autotext™)
screensavers
voice dialing

The only relatively different and unique addition to the Slash is a minuscule mirror on the back of the phone once you slide it open. The small mirror is designed to show you what its on-board camera is about the capture. Unless you actually have eyes in front of your head and behind like your mother always told you, though, you can’t see the mirror when you have it pointed at what you’re photographing. At 3.5 hours of talk time, the Slash’s standard battery neither screams out as an industry leader nor underwhelms. The talk time satisfactorily fits nicely in the middle of the industry’s current average. The Slash’s battery has a standby life of about 170 hours or seven days. At 3.8 inches by 1.8 inches by 0.7 of an inch, the Slash’s size is just right. The cell phone fits snug as bug in your hand and in your pocket. It’s neither too large nor too small. At a weight of 3 ounces, it’s perfectly light as well.
An extra battery costs $29.99, a car charger runs $24.99 and a cheap Bluetooth headset (there are many more choices) can cost you only $24.99. The Slash for $69.99 as well as its accessories can be purchased from Virgin Mobile directly. The phone can be coupled with various prepaid calling plans from Virgin Mobile with no contract as well as several monthly payment plans. As Virgin Mobile is an authorized Sprint reseller, all calls on its phones use the Sprint network

One-year warranty if new or 90-day warranty if refurbished Battery While most cell phones today carry between 3 hours and 5 hours of rated talk time, the Samsung Propel sits at the top of that range with a 5-hour rated talk time. The Propel rates at up to 10 days of standby time when you’re not using your cell phone at all. Size, Weight The Propel measures 3.85 inches by 2.33 inches by 0.05 of an inch. Considering it features a full keyboard and meaty battery, the handset weighs in at a notably light 3.79 ounces.
Differentiation in the Marketplace While there isn’t one feature in particular that stands out about the Samsung A767 Propel as a true market differentiator, its ultimate differentiation is in its total package and its ability to be a full-featured entertainment cell phone with a QWERTY keyboard priced under the $100 barrier.

The iPod has changed the game as we knew it because of its simplistic, sexy design and “I need it now” marketing. On sheer principle, though, I despise the notion of having a cell phone in one hand and an iPod in another. This is the reason for this Samsung Upstage cell phone review. The Samsung Upstage attempts to marry all that’s chic about miniature multimedia with its most natural lover: the digital phone. On some levels, I thank my lucky stars for several of its innovations. On some others, I curse the South Korean gods for injecting vexing technology for technology’s sake

Truphone Supports Newly-Announced Nokia Wi-Fi-Equipped Handsets
Truphone today confirmed that its mobile VoIP service is supported on three new Nokia handsets announced today: the Wi-Fi-equipped Nokia E61i, Nokia E65 and Nokia E90 models.
Truphone enables Wi-Fi-equipped mobile phones to make internet-rate phone calls (VoIP calls) over Wi-Fi connections. When the handset is not in Wi-Fi range it reverts from being a 'Truphone' to being a normal mobile handset, so people need only one device.
"The new Nokia E61i, Nokia E65 and Nokia E90 phones will be very popular and Truphone works on them from day one," said James Tagg, CEO of Truphone. "With other manufacturers also starting to put Wi-Fi on handsets, 2007 is the year that mobile meets the Internet - and that means Truphone VoIP," he added.
The Truphone client software has completed the Symbian signing process and is available for all new and existing Nokia Wi-Fi VoIP handsets.
Nokia E90 - does the keyboard live up to expectations?
Oh dear. Initial reports on the Nokia E90 are trickling in, and like a warm rivulet of liquid down your inner thigh it's not particularly great news. A bone of contention - and demonstrating just how subjective smartphones really are - is the keyboard. My Symbian readily heap praise on it:
"Only good words can be said about the keyboard. It has the same height as the keyboard of the 9500 and the same width as the keyboard of the 9300(i). And, just like with the dimensions of the device, it's a PERFECT combination. What's more, in contrast to 9500's and 9300's flat keys, the keys in the E90 are slightly convex and shaped in the way that makes you clearly feel where each key begins or ends"
This, however, stands distinctly at odds with The Register's hands-on report, where they find the keyboard to be too small to touch-type on and perhaps too broad to comfortably thumb-type with: "Alas, unless you have very small fingers indeed, you're going to be disappointed."
It gets worse, as their reviewer finds that accuracy when using the thumbs is sub E70 or E61. So far I've seen plenty of excited links to the My Symbian review - people really are happy to see a return of the Communicator styling, and there's no denying that the handset is a powerhouse - but very few second-opinions on the keyboard, and my worry would be that after the initial flurry of excited buying there'll be plenty of letdown-complaining that won't help Nokia one bit. mobile phone deals - Mobile Marketing-best mobile phone deals -latest cell phones - Everything about latest cell phones available here such as latest nokia cell phones, kids latest cell phones, latest sony ericsson cell phones, latest samsung cell phones, latest zong cell phones on cheap rate.- world phone - Bulk SMS - Mobile Phones UK - Internet Calls - projection screens - LG mobile blog - Read all about the latest LG mobile phone handsets before anyone else.- Vonage VOIP services cheap phone service - Latest Mobile Phones - BlackBerry Mobile Phones -

We’ve been expecting the Nokia E71 for a while now and according to a report by Reuters it’s expected to be officially announced this week (maybe at Nokia Connection 2008 in Singapore).
The E71 is only 10 mm thickness and is will be the slimmest business messaging device from Nokia. It comes with GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi and Bluetooth.
As soon as we get new on the release we’ll post it here.

This is a new one to me, somehow missed this. Anyway the N85 from Nokia have been confirmed by the FCC and when available in the US will be a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE with support for 3G data speeds in the 850Mhz, 1900Mhz, and 2100Mhz frequency bands, ensuring that the handset can not only work almost anywhere in the world.
The phone will come with a 5 megapixel camera a lens cover to prevent dust, WiFi, a smaller display then the N96 and will run S60 3rd edition.
I’m not to sure as to price on this yet but it looks as if Nokia are aiming this toward the top end of the N-series range but maybe just priced under the N96. Now that the FCC have approved it I’m sure some demos will pop-up over the coming weeks and months so we can get some better reviews.

Nokia have just announced the 3610 quadband mobile, the phone come with a 1.3 Megapixel camera and 6x digital zoom, analogue clock and can supports up to 4GB on an microSD card.
It will have a 2-inch QVGA screen that has 262k colours, Bluetooth 2.0 and is basically a budget-friendly phone.
The phone is not expected to ship until the 3rd quarter of 2008 and will sell for around €125.

Today Nokia have announced the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte that has been engineered using carbon fibre, titanium, polished glass and stainless steel. Carbon fibre is a light weight material and also strong, the marketing people say this “Carbon fibre is an ultra light and strong material that expresses a woven pattern that is both high-tech and sensuous”
So what do you get..well it comes with a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera, microUSB connector, OLED display, 4 GB built-in memory oh and the anti-fingerprint coating reduces smudges so it’s not a smudge magnet.
I’ve no price and availability yet but hope to have more information soon.

Nokia have jumped in and launch the Nokia N96 in India just ahead of the iPhone launch on 22 August, I guess it’s a bold move on behalf of Nokia. The N96 comes with 16GB and expandable to 24GB through an external card, iPhone only comes in 8GB or 16GB.
With a large 2.8-inch screen display the N96 is also 3G which allow high quality net surfing, video and music download etc. the phone will come preloaded with the movie ‘Om Shanti Om’, 50 music videos, music tracks in Hindi and English and 3 N-Gage games with an unlimited license on for the 3rd edition of Asphalt Urban.
“The memory of N96 can store up to 18,000 songs, up to 20,000 images and up to 60 hours of video or 20 full length movies,” said a Nokia spokesperson

The Nokia 500 is a nice slim phone that is available in a few different colours. The phone is light and is only 11.1mm thin. it comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera and a 2″ QVGA display. If your looking for a phone for calls and text this is what you need the lack of expandable memory is a draw back if you want to use this for music but that’s what iPods are for.
Key features
• Capture images and video with a 1.3 megapixel camera and admire your moments on a 2″ QVGA display.• Listen to your music or the radio while on the move with an integrated music player and FM radio.• Record your favourites from FM radio (available in selected regions only)• Share images, videos, and ringtones via Bluetooth or GPRS connections.• Keep in contact with SMS, MMS, email, and Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging

The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is Nokia’s attempt to get in on the Sony Ericsson Walkman range and to be honest it’s not a back job. The phone is a fully loaded music player with FM radio and can store up to 4GB of Songs so no issues there with space.
It’s comes with a 2 megapixel camera and Bluetooth connectivity, my wife has one of these and find the battery life OK but she’s not a heavy user. The price on this have dropped to €99 on O2 which for such a great phone is a bit of a bargain you also get a set of speakers for free.
The 2 megapixel camera lacks a flash which is a bit of a shame but during daylight it really takes a decent picture. It have no 3G but that’s not an issue for must people and EDGE should be quick. It’s come with 3 games and of course you can download

The Nokia 5630 XpressMusic which is a low end mobile is set to be launched in the USA soon. The phone although aimed at the low-end market is made for music. It comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with built-in flash, can play Nokia mobile phone ringtones, GPS and Symbian S60 3rd edition.
The phone is expected to come with GPRS and EDGE connectivity but we are unsure about 3G. We hope to have some launch dates

The Nokia navigator first appeared a couple of years ago, since been there have been many updates and improvements in the navigator series. Today Nokia have announced the 6710 navigator which is the latest arrival in the navigator line.
The new slider phone comes with a 5 megapixel camera which boasts a Carl Zeiss and Lens and even better a duel LED flash. The phone also comes with GPS.
According to Markku Suomi, vice president at Nokia the navigation solution that the Nokia 6710 provides is second known and he is everything that you won’t he expecting with a dedicated GPS device plus the added benefits of having a converged mobile devices.
The 6710 is expected to be available around the third quarter of 2009 and will sell in the region of €300 depending of course on contracts from your local network provider. If you cannot wait this long you can always buy a good cell phone from your network provider and maybe trade up at a later stage.

The Finnish company officially announced the Nokia 8202 today. The phone looks to be a fairly stylish device and has some nice features to boost, the moment we will not be seeing this phone in Ireland it is aimed at the CDMA market, which is more likely in the U. S. market where of course everything is called a cell phone as opposed to mobile phone that we use.
The phone itself comes with a 3-megapixel camera, 2.2-inch QVGA screen, Series 40 user interface, dedicated music-playback keys, FM radio, standard 3.5mm audio jack, GPS 150MB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot that will support up to 16GB

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic seems to have found its way to Vodafone Ireland and is now on sale from their website starting at €400 for pre-pay and starting at €40 to €99 on contract depending which one you choose.
Now we have reviewed the Nokia 5800 a number of times on this site and here’s a quick spec as to what you get. Of course one of the main features with the 5800 is the touchscreen this is Nokia’s first touch screen mobile phone and was launched with great fanfare last year. The phone comes with 3.2-inch touch screen with 640 x 360 resolution, 3.2 megapixel camera, VGA video recording, bluetooth, WiFi and is based on the Symbian OS 60 operating system.

just came across this I know it’s not a phone and generally I try and stick to only talking about mobile phones on this website but hey it’s the middle of the week and it’s past 5 p.m. So here we have the iPhone skateboard it’s not something that you see very often but just thought I would publish the picture to show our loyal readers.
If you do happen to be a bit of an iPhone fanboy/fangirl you can pick this up for $60

The N86 is an eight megapixel camera phone. It’s a set to come with a wide-angle Carl Zeiss optics camera which will take pictures according to Nokia it in low light. It comes with features like geo-tagging and what services to upload to Ovi Share and Flickr.
The phone also comes with an 8GB of memory that will allow you to store up to 4000 images it can also be upgraded to 16GB if required. It features 2.6-inch OLED screen features scratch resistant hardened glass which will come in handy while you’re browsing through your recent pictures.
Current prices on the Expansys website is quoting $850 which is about twice the price to Nokia said this home will be selling out when released. To Nokia N86 is expected to hit the market around the second quarter of 2009 with hopefully a better price than is presently being displayed on the Expansys website.

Nokia N80Nokia N80 was instigated with the second wave of N Series cellular in November of 2005 and it included GSM / EDGE support and 3G WCDMA access into a beautiful slider form factor. Furthermore, Nokia N80 cell phone has many more splendid features that make it so attractive, such as 802.11g Wi Fi support and a SIP well-suited VOIP client, meaning you could hypothetically use the N80 with a VOIP supplier such as Broad Voice or Vonage. Furthermore, when you attach a 3 mega pixel camera to the mix and a very high resolution display, things begin to become visible very fascinating really.

Design of Nokia N80In Nokia N80 particulars, its designs format is the top of the list, a little cell phone, enclosed the slider phone measured 3.7 by 1.9 by 1.0 inches and 4.7 ounces weight. Underneath the screen you will see two soft keys, the controls are simple to use, the Talk and End button, an edit key, a four-way routing toggle with a center selection function, a menu shortcut, a multimedia key, and a Clear button. For the majority, but the toggle and the select button are as little bit small, so you have to press them watchfully. Due to its most excellent little shape, it is tight fit in a pocket and at ease to hold in the hand. It has pure black case, which enhances its attractiveness and beauty; while the Nokia n80 mobile phone is also accessible in stainless steel as well. To open the higher slide cover just push the face up and sliding system is horizontal and locks into place with a hard click. After opening the above slider you will have control to use the numerical pad. The keys are big and satisfactorily backlit, but the peak row of numbers are closely lined with the base of the open face, which may cause some difficulty for the users with bigger hands.

On the left spinal line, there is a small SD card hole, while the speaker and camera-initiating key are on the right side. The situation of the latter is mainly nice since, it replicates the feel of a real digital camera when held leveled, but it is a little bit out of your depth if you want to take a straight up picture. The lens of the camera is situated on the back along with a flash and a switch that allows you to replace from normal to close-up (macro) mode. There is no self-portrait reflect, but it is not essential since there is a second camera lens on the face of the phone, while it is located above the screen in the upper-right corner. At the time of buy Nokia n80, you will find the following Nokia n80 accessories like a USB cable, a stereo handset, ; an AC adapter, a wrist strap, a screen shimmy and a tiny 128 SD card.

Surfing the Web on the N80 is a pleasant experience and web pages loaded fairly speedily, but we noticed a bit of wait time when switching during applications. Music playback is also sweet good quality and audio was hard and loud, but since the speaker is situated on only the right side, sound was unsophisticated.

Nokia N91The Nokia n91 cell phone is little bit big and contains eye catching silver color format, and its measured size is 4.4 x 2.2 x 0.9 inches and 5.8 ounces weight, the slider phone is on the larger and heftier side, making for a tight fit in a pants pocket. But it is easy to hold in hand and making a call. The Nokia N91 cell phone has 2.2 inch diagonal screen that displays 262,000 colors at 176 x 208 resolutions, so text and images are not as sharp.
